Maura J. Sweeney

Chief Program and Services Officer

Maura J. Sweeney joined Lighthouse Guild in 2010. Ms. Sweeney brings 25 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare to our organization. She started her career as a Speech-Language Pathologist at Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Center, where she later held various clinical and management positions. She also spent a number of years with Fidelis Care New York, with responsibility for Enrollment, Member Services, and Member Retention areas. Before joining Lighthouse Guild, she was the Executive Director of ArchCare Senior Life, a Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) in New York.

At Lighthouse Guild, Ms. Sweeney has direct responsibility for all clinical and service programs. She works to ensure high-quality, effective service delivery while maintaining operational productivity and efficiency. Furthermore, she is responsible for facilities management for all of the organization’s campuses. Ms. Sweeney represents Lighthouse Guild on several vision-related organizations, including VisionServe Alliance. She is the Vice President of the New York Vision Rehabilitation Association. 

After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Boston College, Ms. Sweeney earned a Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Columbia University’s Teachers College and a Master’s of Public Administration in Health Policy and Management from the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service at New York University.
