James M. Dubin

James M. Dubin is the managing partner of Madison Place Partners, LLC, a financial and organizational consulting firm. He is a member of the Boards of Directors of Emmis Corporation and Omega Flex, Inc. He previously served as a member of the Boards of Directors of Carnival Corporation & plc, Conair Corporation, Atlantic Avenue Acquisition Corp. and Arison Investments LTD., the holding company for Bank Hapoalim and Shikun and Binui (Israel’s largest bank and largest construction company). He is a member of the Board of Governors of Tel Aviv University and a past chair of its Buchmann Faculty of Law, a Trustee of the Purchase College Foundation, a Trustee of the Biennial Foundation and a member of the Board and Treasurer of The Friends of the Neuberger Museum of Art. He is a former Chairman of The National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts (now Young Arts) and a former President of the Board of Trustees of Williston Northampton School. He has also served as a member of the Boards of Trustees of the American Ballet Theatre, the Miami City Ballet, the Presidential Scholars Foundation, the Jewish Home Lifecare system and as Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Solomon Schechter School of Westchester. 

Mr. Dubin recently retired as Executive Chairman of Conair Corporation, a global manufacturer and distributor of hair fashion and kitchen appliances and accessories. Prior thereto, he was a senior partner of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, an international law firm headquartered in New York City, where he served for many years as chair of the firm’s Corporate Department, a member of its Management Committee and chair of its Finance Committee. While at Paul, Weiss, he was responsible for the structuring and negotiation of complex domestic and cross-border corporate transactions, including sophisticated merger and acquisition, going private, corporate finance, IPO and securities matters. 

Mr. Dubin received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Juris Doctor from Columbia University School of Law, where he served as an editor of the Columbia Law Review and was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. He lives in Harrison, New York and Snowmass, Colorado with his wife Susan.
