While accessible technology can help individuals with vision impairment in their work, travel, and communication with loved ones, it’s understandable that questions about using your iPhone, apps, or staying informed about the latest tech solutions can be frustrating.

Lighthouse Guild is here to help you by offering our brand new Tech In-Session series! Each month, we will host an in-person, interactive discussion group to explore current and future technology for people with vision loss. This is an opportunity to join our community focused on ways technology can improve our lives.

The program, led by Tech experts from Lighthouse Guild, is open to anyone interested in assistive technology – whether you are a user, family member, professional in the field, or simply curious. Some discussion topics will include current technology trends, challenges and solutions, the future of assistive technology, technology and daily living, and more!

Each session will begin with 30 minutes on a specific topic such as a demonstration of an app or device, a presentation by a tech developer, or the latest technology updates. This is followed by a chance to share and ask questions you may have about your device or other accessible tech solutions.

Our first Tech In-Session will feature the orientation application NaviLens, which is currently piloted by the New York City Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA). Learn more about Navigation and Orientation Technologies.

Space is limited to ensure everyone has an opportunity to participate, ask questions, and learn more about technology. Register today and bring your questions!
