Purpose of study: Recently, several new devices have been developed that use software innovations that provide access to text-to-speech, scene description, and object recognition. This study collects data on the needs that users think the technology will help them with, how accurately the technology works in the hands of people with vision loss, and whether the technology is usable and acceptable.

Eligibility: We are recruiting English-speaking participants, 18 years or older, with vision between 20/100 and 20/800 for inclusion, therefore, you must have some vision left.

Duration: Participants will come to Lighthouse Guild for five weekly visits lasting approximately one hour each.

Procedures: The study will provide participants with training, practice, and testing with four technologies: OrCam, Envision Glasses, Google Lookout, and Microsoft Seeing AI.

Compensation: Participants will be compensated at a rate of $25 per visit, with an additional $75 for completing all five visits in appreciation of their time.
