Mary Yumei Chang, MD

Dr. Mary Yumei Chang joined Lighthouse Guild in 2022 as the Medical Director. Dr. Chang enjoys teaching and partnering with her patients and tries to adhere to a holistic approach to medicine that is humane, convenient, and pragmatic. In addition to primary care, she provides women’s health services for her primary care patients.
Dr. Chang specializes in Internal Medicine. She graduated from Northwestern University before completing her Doctorate in Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She received honors in Gynecology and Internal Medicine. After completing her residency at Mount Sinai Downtown, she served as a Hospitalist at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn. She specialized in acute medical care requiring hospitalization. After starting her family, Dr. Chang transitioned to outpatient medicine. She had served as the Medical Director for the onsite health centers at Bank of New York’s New Jersey and New York offices for the past six years before moving to Mount Sinai Brooklyn Heights and now to Lighthouse Guild.
Dr. Chang enjoys reading, running, and exploring New York City with her husband and four young children when she is not at the Lighthouse Guild Health Center. She believes her perspective as a professional with a young and busy family gives her insight into her patients’ lives.
Dr. Chang is honored to serve Lighthouse Guild and strives to provide the highest level of care to those with and without visual disabilities.
